Hours: 7 a.m. until 30 minutes after sunset.  

The Hillsborough Skate Spot is in Cates Creek Park. While the skate spot is now open, be aware that other work is continuing in the area. The town is creating an accessible sidewalk from the park’s parking lot to the skate spot and adding additional amenities around the skating area. 

Rules

• Respect others, take turns, and be aware of other skaters and riders.
• Wear shoes at all times.
• Use of helmets and pads is required.
• Users under age 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.
• All users and spectators accept and assume liability for any injuries.
• Conduct deemed inappropriate by staff may result in suspension of park use.

Prohibited Activities and Items

• No trespassing after hours.
• No littering.
• No smoking or alcohol use.
• No discharge of weapons.
• No foul language or behavior, including fighting.
• No motorized vehicles.
• No modifications to any skating surfaces, including painting or writing.
• No metal bike pegs.
• No skating or riding when the surface is wet or icy.
• No commercial use of this property. Vendors are not permitted.
• No pets on skate park surfaces. Pets must be leashed at all times.
