Safely dispose of unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medications at the Hillsborough Police Department’s drive-thru events or in downtown drop boxes.

"Our goal is to make it as convenient as possible to help dispose of unneeded and expired medication," said Sgt. Scott Foster, who leads the Police Department Community Action Team. "Partnering with the community to help keep unprescribed medication out of the wrong hands is tremendous in helping with the fight against addiction and preventing the tragedy of overdose deaths.”

The Police Department is unable to collect needles, syringes, vapes and illicit drugs.

Drop-off Events

  • April 25 — From 10 a.m. to noon, police will take your unwanted medications as you drive through the parking lot of Walgreens, 200 U.S. 70 E.
  • May 28 — From 9 a.m. to noon, drop off unwanted medications in front of the Passmore Center, 103 Meadowlands Drive.
