Town to Resurface 11 Streets

Post Date:April 20, 2026 8:00 a.m.

A contractor for the town will begin asphalt street resurfacing on Thursday, April 23, weather permitting.

The planned resurfacing includes portions of:

  • Corporate, Meadowlands and Millstone drives.
  • South Cameron and North Occoneechee streets.
  • Homemont and Riddle avenues.
  • Magnolia, East Margaret and Sherwood lanes.
  • Pond Lilly Court.

The contractor may be on site from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Roads will remain open during resurfacing as one side of the street is paved at a time. Drivers are encouraged to pay attention to safety signage and any signaling or flagging. The work is expected to be completed by May 22.

Before a road is repaved, manholes and valves are adjusted. To protect your vehicle, please avoid driving over the raised manholes. The top layer of asphalt also is milled to create a rough surface that the new asphalt can adhere to.

The Town of Hillsborough maintains a schedule to repave every road on a 20-year cycle. Road conditions are regularly assessed, and repairs are scheduled according to need and age of the asphalt’s top layer.

Questions may be directed to Public Works Supervisor Brian Tatum by email or at 919-296-9601.
