Hillsborough police responded to reports of an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot injury Saturday evening in the northern part of town. 

The injury was not considered life-threatening. 

Upon responding to the incident on Odie Street at 10:30 p.m., police found an 18-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg due to accidentally discharging a firearm.

The man was transported to a hospital.
