America 250, state, U.S. and pride banners will be displayed downtown this summer

Hillsborough Public Works crews installed America 250 banners this morning. The new banners are part of the town’s celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Crews will continue to change the banners affixed to utility poles on downtown streets through the rest of the year as Hillsborough observes multiple celebrations and honors Veterans Day in November.
The schedule for changing banners is:
May 21 to 29 — America 250 banners
May 29 to June 12 — Pride flag banners to recognize Pride Month
June 12 to 22 — U.S. and state flag banners to recognize Flag Day and Juneteenth
June 22 to July 1 — Pride flag banners resumed for Pride Month
July 1 to Nov. 9 — America 250 banners
Nov. 9 — U.S. and state flag banners to recognize Veterans Day, followed by holiday wreaths
