The Town of Hillsborough will join other city, town and county government employers for a combined career fair for local government.

This year’s Local Government Career Expo will be 1-4 p.m. Aug. 29 at the McKimmon Center, 1101 Gorman St. in Raleigh.

The event will offer information sessions and networking opportunities aimed at career advancement, mid-career professionals and those looking to switch careers or explore new opportunities. Job seekers will have the opportunity to attend pre-event workshops.

“We are excited to share information about all of the awesome career paths and benefits that the town has to offer,” Hillsborough Human Resources Manager Haley Thore said. “This expo is a terrific opportunity for anyone looking for stable employment and opportunities to grow. I hope to see you there!”

The town employs professionals in a variety of fields including solid waste collections, water and sewer utility maintenance, planning, budgeting, and stormwater. Hillsborough is currently accepting applications for police officers and a water treatment plant operator.
