Help the town chart its path forward!

The town’s community survey is available online in English and Spanish and will be delivered by mail to all town residents in the next few weeks.

“Input from the Hillsborough community is essential to know if we’re meeting the needs of residents,” Mayor Mark Bell said. “The Community Survey is one of the most important tools we have to learn about how we’re doing and where we can improve. It also helps inform our strategic planning activities.

“I encourage every household to participate and share what is important about living in Hillsborough.”

The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. Individual responses will remain confidential. The survey asks residents about their level of satisfaction and priorities for a wide range of community services, including public safety, parks and recreation, code enforcement, public works, communication and customer service.

This year, staff have included questions to help develop the town’s next strategic plan. The plan aligns available resources with priorities for policy initiatives, capital investments, and decisions on budgeting and staffing. It will guide the town for three years, in coordination with the Comprehensive Sustainability Plan.

For residents who want to complete the survey online but need access to the internet, use of a computer will be available during business hours in the Administration Building, 101 E. Orange St., while the survey is open. Additional computers are available at the Orange County Public Library, 137 W. Margaret Lane. 

The statistically valid survey is administered by ETC Institute of Olathe, Kansas. After the surveys are mailed, the company may use location-targeted social media advertisements to encourage responses.
