Staff will continue to remove some debris along Riverwalk over the next few months. Trail users can expect to see downed trees and debris due to the flooding in early July.
A section of Riverwalk is now open to the public after being damaged during Tropical Storm Chantal. However, some sections and Gold Park remain closed for repairs.
The greenway is open from Calvin Street to Cameron Street.
Riverwalk remains closed from:
Calvin Street to Eno Mountain Road.
Cameron Street to Occoneechee Speedway.
Please remain out of closed areas to allow repair work to continue.
See a video update on the open section and the remaining work to be done.
Repairs
Hillsborough Public Works crews removed hazards, and contractors made repairs to the reopened portion of Riverwalk by:
Removing trees, mud and debris that blocked many sections of the trail.
Replacing several sections of boardwalk, decking and railing.
