Celebrate Arbor Day with the Hillsborough Tree Board!
Join Tree Board members at 9 a.m. Nov. 19 at the Dorothy N. Johnson Community Center, 501 Rainey Ave. The board members will plant a red oak, and Mayor Mark Bell will read the town’s annual Arbor Day proclamation.
Fall is a great time for planting trees, see more information about tree planting and management on the N.C. Cooperative Extension website.
Tree Board
The Tree Board is responsible for the trees and landscaping in town parks and on town property and rights of way, including pollinator gardens. Additionally, the board supports volunteer programs — pollinator garden maintenance and removal of invasive plants.
With the Tree Board’s help, the town has been a part of the Arbor Day Foundation's Tree City USA program since 2003.
