Orange County Affordable Housing Advisory Board

This Orange County advisory board prioritizes affordable housing needs and assesses and monitors project proposals and local housing programs. Its work includes:

The Orange County Board of Commissioners appoints Hillsborough residents to the board with input from the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners. Members can serve up to two three-year terms.

Orange County Animal Services Advisory Board

This Orange County board:

• Advises the Orange County Board of Commissioners on animal issues and services.
• Works with Orange County Animal Services on various policy concerns and issues.

The county commissioners appoint Hillsborough residents to the board with input from the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners. Members can serve up to two three-year terms.

Orange County Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool

Members of this pool hear appeals regarding dangerous dog declarations and other actions taken by Orange County Animal Services staff.

The hearing panels are drawn from a pool of people appointed by the Orange County Board of Commissioners. Hillsborough residents are appointed with input from the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners. Members can serve up to two three-year terms.

Orange County Human Relations Commission

This Orange County commission works to prevent and eliminate bias and discrimination through education, persuasion, conciliation and enforcement. It:

• Advises the Orange County Board of Commissioners on these matters.
• Receives discrimination complaints.
• Conducts investigations of complaints.

The county commissioners appoint at least one Hillsborough resident to the commission with input from the Hillsborough Board of Commissioners. Members can serve up to two three-year terms.
