The program is intended to:

• Increase community members' knowledge, interest and ability to influence and participate in town government.
• Reduce barriers to participating in and influencing town government decisions. This occurs through increased understanding of the town's key processes and operations.
• Assist in building community members' interest in serving the community through future service.
• Bring community members' thoughts and questions directly to staff.

The Government 101 program is only open to registered participants. 

When: 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 10

Location: Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St. 

The session will include a welcome dinner and provide an overview of town government and guiding plans. Participants will be formally welcomed by the mayor and hear from the assistant town manager, administrative services director and communications team.

• Traffic stop simulation
• Talks with the fire and police chiefs
• Opportunities to check out vehicles, dust for fingerprints and experience the ladder truck
