Planning Board
The Planning Board reviews planning issues within the town's zoning jurisdiction. The board reviews and makes recommendations on rezonings, subdivisions and ordinance amendments.

Three of the board's members are appointed by the Orange County Board of Commissioners to represent residents of the town's extraterritorial jurisdiction. This is an area just outside town limits, established by an agreement between the town and county, in which the town has zoning jurisdiction. Upcoming:Joint Public Hearing with Board of Commissioners (Remote)Date:April 15, 2021Time:7 p.m.Location:Details:The boards will conduct a public hearing to assist their consideration of amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance. Included on this agenda are a bundle of amendments to meet requirements of state statutes for planning and zoning authority. The public is encouraged to comment on these changes. The packet contains a shortened version of the ordinance in the track changes format. A complete ordinance, also in track change mode, will be posted to the meeting calendar by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9.
