Mayor Jenn Weaver

Jenn Weaver is in her second term as mayor after serving for six years as a town commissioner. She has a master’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her undergraduate degree from Prescott College in Arizona, where she studied education and environmental studies. Weaver has lived in Hillsborough for nearly 15 years on the western edge of the Historic District. She and her husband, David Neal, have two children who attend Orange middle and high schools. Weaver enjoys spending time with her family, walking their dog, reading, cooking, writing, and running and hiking in the outdoor areas of Hillsborough and surrounding Orange County.
Weaver represents the town in the following capacities:
- Chair of the Durham Chapel Hill Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization
- Vice chair of the Upper Neuse River Basin Association
Weaver also is involved in community service through the following:
- Orange County Community Remembrance Coalition
- North Carolina Mayor’s Association
- Organizing Committee for Local Progress North Carolina
- Silver member of the Northern Orange Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
