The town received an application to rezone 17.6 acres adjacent to Forest Ridge. The site is curently zoned Entranceway Special Use and had previously been approved for construction of a mixed-use development called Fox Haven that included townhouses, office/retail uses and an event center. That approval has expired. The owner is seeking rezoning to the Residential Special Use district, a flexible district with no minimum lot size, to allow for creative options.
The plan proposes 46 single-family dwellings on small lots and private streets. The streets would only access the existing network in Forest Ridge and would not directly connect to U.S. 70 Business. The plan has been amended since the April 2015 public hearing. The revised pages are available in the documents section on this page.
The rezoning request was for a special use district and includes the Special Use Permit application. Additional information was submitted and is available on request. Please contact staff with questions.
The Board of Commissioners approved the rezoning and Special Use Permit in September 2015. Construction drawings have been approved and infrastructure is under construction.
