Community Services Unit
The Community Services Unit includes two sworn officers. The many responsibilities of this unit range from implementing community-oriented policing programs and initiatives to assisting with calls for service and other support services.
The unit runs a variety of community programs and provides a number of nontraditional police services, including:
- Planning, attending and assisting in Community Watch meetings.
- Coffee with a Cop.
- Attending community events including health and wellness expos, community summits and other similar events.
- Giving safety presentations at schools, nursing homes, workplaces and similar venues.
To schedule an officer to appear at an event, contact the unit.
Special Olympics campaign
The North Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in an effort to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics North Carolina.
