Investigations Division

The Investigations Division is responsible for conducting criminal investigations for a wide assortment of offenses including narcotics violations, burglaries, larcenies, robberies, sexual assaults, missing persons, child abuse, aggravated assaults, homicides, and financial and identity thefts.

Functions

Investigators are trained in advanced crime scene processing, interviewing, photography, fingerprinting and forensics.
Investigators work with members of other divisions within the department, other municipal and state law enforcement agencies and federal agencies, such as the FBI, DEA and Secret Service. Investigators also work closely with Child Protective Services, the Department of Social Services and other local and state agencies.
