Welcome to the Hillsborough Police Department in North Carolina. In the 1930s, a town ordinance established the Police Department, consisting of only a handful of officers. Today, the sworn and non-sworn staff of the department number 30 employees. For the men and women of the Police Department, our mission hasn’t changed much since the 1930s. Quite simply, we exist to make the Town of Hillsborough safer. We always have and always will. We cannot do this job alone. Get to know us better and help form that teamwork which will help make Hillsborough a more safe and secure environment.
