Administrative and Support

The Administrative and Support Division oversees department administration, internal accountability, records, investigations, recruiting, training and community policing.
Investigators are trained in advanced crime scene processing, interviewing, photography, fingerprinting and forensics.
Investigators work with members of other divisions within the department, other municipal and state law enforcement agencies and federal agencies, such as the FBI, DEA and Secret Service. Investigators also work closely with Child Protective Services, the Department of Social Services and other local and state agencies.
The division runs a variety of community programs and provides a number of nontraditional police services, including:
- Adopt-A-Cop.
- Coffee with a Cop.
- Community Watch.
- Community summits.
- Easter egg hunts for dogs.
- National Night Out.
- Safety presentations at schools, nursing homes, workplaces and similar venues.
