Details:
The agenda is available now on the town website and includes various items. Mayor Tom Stevens, Commissioner Kathleen Ferguson and Commissioner Jenn Weaver will take their oaths of office, and a reception will be held following the oaths. The meeting will reconvene around 7:30 p.m. There will be a public hearing regarding financing for Phase II of the West Fork of the Eno Reservoir and the Town Hall Annex and Town Hall renovations. Presentations will be made including the county mobile home park strategy report, retirement recognition for Lt. Robert “Brad” Whitted, NC AWWA-WEA award for Water Distribution Operator of the Year Joel Lashley, recognition of the Hillsborough University Leadership Academy graduates, the State of the Arts – Arts and Economic Prosperity study results, and the quarterly update of the town’s tourism and economic development activity. The board will consider appointments to the cemetery committee, select the Mayor Pro Tem and consider committee assignments for the Mayor and Commissioners. Other items for consideration include a modification resolution for an installment financing agreement with BB&T for an equipment change to utility billing software, approval of road closure and town sponsorship for the MLK Jr. Commemorative March, approval of the Hillsborough Arts Council’s Solstice Lantern Walk along the Riverwalk, a resolution of support for NCDOT to fund improvements at US 70 Bypass/NC 86, consideration of a consistency statements and ordinances to amend the Unified Development Ordinance to clarify parking requirement in the Central Commercial zone, requirements regarding requests for excessive parking, to better match the permitted use table and parking requirements, and to update the recreation points system and add incentives for priority types of improvements. Items for discussion include consideration of an order closing Riggs Place, consideration of a Special Use Permit modification to establish setbacks for accessory structures in Fiori Hill, and an update on the CMAQ sidewalk connections project.
