New Water Line Approaching Completion
Hillsborough Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Division employees are nearing completion of a new water line in the Interstate 85 corridor.

A new town water line is approaching completion in the Interstate 85 corridor.

The Town of Hillsborough Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Division recently finished laying approximately 1,800 feet of pipe along the Interstate to supply water to an area southeast of the N.C. 86 overpass. A Sheetz gas station at that location will be the first customer to use the new line.

Along with supplying water to new customers, the line includes two new fire hydrants.

This week, the town will begin pressure testing the line, disinfecting it and taking bacteria samples in preparation for putting it into service.
