New Video Explains One Way to Protect Our Water
It’s important to have your backflow prevention assembly tested annually. And it’s time to protect your assembly from freezing temperatures with a heat lamp, heat tape or insulation.

If you’ve got a lawn irrigation system or a swimming pool, then you have a backflow prevention assembly to maintain — or you need to have one installed.

In this short video, Troy Miller, who oversees the town’s backflow prevention program, briefly explains why backflow prevention assemblies are needed and how to maintain them to keep our drinking water safe.

For more information about testing a backflow prevention assembly, email the Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Division of the Utilities Department or call 919-732-9459.
