Wednesday, July 25, 2018
Tee up to raise funds for local programs through the Hillsborough Police Department’s annual golf tournament.
The fourth annual charity golf tournament takes place at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Shamrock Golf Course, 1722 Shamrock Drive in Burlington. The tournament will support the Police Department’s #Hillsborough Rocks community initiatives program, including providing a free basketball camp to youths and providing holiday cheer for seniors.
The tournament will take place rain or shine with a shotgun start and will follow a four-player “captain’s choice” format. Teams can register for $50 per player, which includes cart rental, lunch and greens fee. For $5 each, players also can receive one mulligan (a second chance to perform an action) and one string (the ability to move the ball to a more advantageous spot).
Registration is limited to 80 players, and the deadline to register is Aug. 31. Fees must be paid at the time of entry. Checks should be made payable to Town of Hillsborough, with #HillsboroughRocks Golf Tournament on the memo line.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st-, 2nd-, 3rd- and last-place teams and for the longest hole drive and the closest to the pin on a 3-par hole.
Businesses can sponsor holes on the course in exchange for donations, with a $100 minimum for a business logo sign and a $500 minimum for business banners. See the hole sponsorship form below.
