In-house Billing Has Resumed for Water and Sewer Customers
The Town of Hillsborough has resumed in-house billing services for water and sewer bills, effective Feb. 26.
Any late payments from February need to be paid through the new system. The steps for making late payments before March 1 are outlined in:
- A postcard mailed to all customers in early February.
- Within answers to frequently asked questions about the billing transition, available on the town website.
The bill dated March 1 will provide each customer with a new account number, which is needed to ensure payment. Customers should receive the bill by early March. At that time, customers will be able to take required actions to ensure payments are made. Anyone who used the following types of payment prior to Feb. 25 must take action:
- Recurring credit or debit card
- Bank originated bill pay
- Bank draft
The steps that must be taken are outlined via:
- The postcard mailed to all customers in February.
- An insert that will accompany the March bill.
- Within answers to frequently asked questions about the billing transition.
Bank draft form
The bank draft enrollment form for the new billing system is now available for download on the town website. See the Billing and payments section of the Water and Sewer Billing and Collections page. A version is also on the back of water and sewer bills, starting with the March 1 bill. Bank draft is a preferred, convenient payment method as it does not generate fees for the town or customer.
Customers who would like to continue or start bank draft payment must pay by other methods until they receive a bill stating it has been paid by draft. Processing the enrollment takes at least one billing cycle. The March bill will be the first in the new billing system.
For additional information, see the documents below and the town’s webpage on frequently asked questions about the billing transition.
