Police Identify Suspect in Shooting

Hillsborough police have identified a suspect in a shooting that occurred yesterday, April 16, in southern Hillsborough.

Police are seeking Elijah Rashad Dobson, 24, who was driving a tan or beige 2010 Mercedes-Benz C300 sedan with North Carolina license plate HAM-1510.

Dobson is a black man between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing about 130 pounds. He frequents areas in Durham and Raleigh and should be considered armed and dangerous. No warrants are on file at this time.

Yesterday’s shooting into an occupied car occurred on South Churton Street near the intersection of Cardinal Drive. Officers responded at about 5:30 p.m. and located a victim with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to and remains in an area hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. An infant in the victim’s vehicle was unharmed and has been returned to her mother.
