Share Your Thoughts on Inclusive Playground Equipment

Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019
(Photos courtesy of the City of Greenville, which opened Town Common Inclusive Playground in 2016.) The Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Board is seeking community input on inclusive playground equipment that residents would like to see incorporated into the town’s community parks.

Do you have a wish list of inclusive playground equipment you’d like to see in Hillsborough’s community parks?

If so, the Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Board would like to hear what your children would enjoy.

The board is considering options for adding inclusive play equipment, including a swing, to Cates Creek Park or Gold Park.

“Space for new equipment is very limited due to safety regulations at our existing parks, but the Parks and Recreation Board is very interested in making our current and future parks more inclusive. We need community input and ideas on this important topic,” said Public Space Manager Stephanie Trueblood, who provides staff report to the board.

The board is gathering information about inclusive playground equipment options and installation costs to prepare for a future budget request.

The public is invited to share thoughts at the next meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Board Meeting Room of the Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St.

Input also can be shared directly with Public Space Manager Stephanie Trueblood by email or by phone at 919-296-9481.
