Register for the Climate Council Update
The Orange County Climate Council will hold its first annual community update at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. Everyone is invited to register to join the event.
The community update will celebrate the council’s first year of actions and provide an overview of next steps.
The council was formed in 2019 by Orange County and the towns of Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Hillsborough as a collaborative effort among the municipal governments, the school systems, the University of North Carolina, non-profit organizations and residents.
The council’s mission is to accelerate joint action addressing the climate emergency by sharing successful strategies and identifying equitable opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, provide stewardship of the natural world, and protect all county residents from climate impacts.
