Final Call: Submit a Question for State of Town Address

Wednesday, March 18, 2020
Mayor Jenn Weaver will deliver a virtual State of the Town Address at 7 p.m. March 23.

Looking for something to do today? Submit a question for Hillsborough’s mayor to possibly answer in her first State of the Town Address on Monday.

Questions can be submitted through 5 p.m. today, March 18, through Engage Hillsborough, a community engagement platform the Town of Hillsborough is piloting to enhance communication efforts and to lower some of the barriers to providing input.

While you’re there, check out the other project pages, including a COVID-19 page that offers forums for sharing ideas to stay engaged while keeping a social distance and to help others in our community.

Bang the Table, the company that created the online software platform featured Hillsborough’s COVID-19 page in a client newsletter and will reference it in a webinar regarding supporting social distancing measures with online engagement. For more information on Engage Hillsborough, see the news release on its launch.

State of the Town

Mayor Jenn Weaver will deliver the State of the Town Address at 7 p.m. March 23 as a virtual address. You can watch the address:

  • Live on the town’s @HillsboroughGov Facebook page.
  • Later on the town’s YouTube channel.

A summary also will be provided in a news release.

“The necessary precautions against COVID-19 provide us with the opportunity to deeply consider what it means to live in a true community with one another,” Weaver noted in an earlier news release about the address. “How are we looking out for the vulnerable on our block? How is social distancing an act of protection and compassion for our neighbors near and more removed? These are powerful questions to consider and will ultimately make Hillsborough stronger.”
