Solid Waste Collection Delayed due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Town of Hillsborough will not service solid waste routes on Monday, Jan. 18 to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Town offices remain closed to the public due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Cash water and sewer payments may be made by appointment only. See the news release for more information.

Garbage collection — Residents whose garbage is normally picked up on Mondays will receive service on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

Brush collection — Brush collection will follow the same schedule as garbage collection.

Christmas trees — Trees may be placed curbside for town brush collection. Trees must be removed from the stand and free of tinsel, ornaments, lights and other decorations. Trees also may be brought to any of Orange County’s waste and recycling centers except the one on Bradshaw Quarry Road. The centers will be closed Monday, Jan. 18. Rollout carts — Rollout recycling and garbage carts may be placed by the street as early as 4 p.m. the day before collection. They should be removed from streetside by 6 a.m. the day after collection.
