Commission Members and Town Staff to Take Photos in Historic District
Members of the Hillsborough Historic District Commission and town Planning Department staff will be taking photos of buildings and properties in the Historic District beginning this month.
Only certain elements of buildings and properties will be photographed, and the photos will be used by staff, commission members and consultants in updating the town’s Historic District Design Guidelines.
About the update
Planning Department staff and Historic District Commission members will work with consultants on updates through August, including updates to the commission’s rules of procedure and sections of the Hillsborough Unified Development Ordinance that apply to the commission. As part of the update, the design guidelines will become design standards in accordance with the recently enacted N.C. General Statutes Chapter 160D.
The commission is a quasi-judicial board that reviews applications for exterior changes within the Historic District. Current Historic District Design Guidelines and associated documents are available on the commission’s webpage.
