Upcoming meetings will provide Hillsborough residents with an opportunity to give feedback on improvement recommendations for the U.S. 70 corridor.

Orange County is leading a multimodal study on the stretch of U.S. 70 between N.C. 119 in Alamance County and N.C. 751 in Durham County. The study team is interested in where residents want to see improvements for bicycle and pedestrian connections, including improvements to the local bus system.

Three meetings are scheduled. Two will take place in Hillsborough and one in Mebane. Light refreshments and a play zone for children will be provided at each meeting. All meetings have an associated Zoom link for virtual attendance. Visit the project website, us70west.com, for more information and to access the Zoom links.

The three meetings will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Nov. 19 at Mebane City Hall, 106 E. Washington St., Mebane.
  • Dec. 2 at the Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St., Hillsborough.
  • Dec. 9 at the Whitted Human Services Center, 300 W. Tryon St., Hillsborough
