Discuss South Churton Street Redesign at June Open Houses
South Churton Street Multimodal Corridor Study Is Underway

Participate in one of the June open houses to learn more about the South Churton Street study and share your corridor concerns.
The state has plans to widen South Churton Street from the Eno River to Interstate 40, and the town is working on a redesign concept to inform the state project.
You can provide input at the start of the study by sharing your thoughts at an open house and completing a survey.
Attend upcoming meetings
Consultants will introduce the study and host a public discussion that will involve public engagement at two upcoming appointed board meetings. Please note these on your calendar and plan to attend one of them.
- 6:30 p.m. June 15 — Planning Board Meeting, Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St.
- 7 p.m. June 20 — Parks and Recreation Board Meeting, Town Hall Annex, 105 E. Corbin St.
Complete a survey
Take the community survey in English or Spanish. Those with businesses located along South Churton Street will be asked to complete a separate business survey. Contact Public Space and Sustainability Manager Stephanie Trueblood by email or at 919-296-9600 to learn more about the business survey.
Stay involved
Stakeholders such as business and property owners, residents in the South Churton Street corridor vicinity, and transportation and transit partners will be invited to focus groups over the summer and fall.
In the fall, the community at large will be invited to a multiday design workshop. See the town’s project page and subscribe to town news releases to stay informed.
