Police Make 2 Additional Arrests in Orange Street Shooting

A 19-year-old and 2 juveniles were arrested in the shooting that killed a man and injured a woman

Hillsborough police have made two additional arrests in the Sept. 13 shooting on Orange Street.

At 3:30 p.m. yesterday, Oct. 11, 19-year-old Coreiaja Woodard of Durham was arrested by the Hillsborough Police Department with assistance from the Durham County Sheriff's Office. Woodard was charged with:

  • Aiding and abetting first-degree murder
  • Aiding and abetting assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill or inflicting serious injury
  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon
  • Conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon
  • Contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile

At 12:45 p.m. today, Oct. 12, a 17-year-old juvenile was arrested with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Wake County Sheriff's Office. The juvenile’s name cannot be released at this time. The suspect was charged with:

  • First-degree murder
  • Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury
  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon

Previously, a 17-year-old was arrested Sept. 27 in Durham and charged with:

  • First-degree murder.
  • Robbery with a dangerous weapon. 
  • Felony conspiracy.
  • Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Cailee Azariah Parker, 20, of Durham was killed and an 18-year-old Hillsborough woman was injured in the shooting in the 200 block of West Orange Street. The surviving victim’s name is not being released at this time in the investigation. Police discovered the two victims shot when they responded at about 10 p.m. to a report of multiple people suffering gunshot wounds.
