Fairview Youth in Action

The annual program nurtures and develops leadership skills, community engagement and personal development.

Government 101

The board received a presentation on this year’s Government 101 program that highlighted changes that were made for this year. Thirty-one people attended the multi-week course on town government. After the presentation, participants received certificates from Mayor Jenn Weaver and Town Manager Eric Peterson.

Earth Day event series

The board allocated funds and approved sponsorship for a 2024 Earth Day event series that is expected to become an annual event. The funds will help promote a series of 30 small steps or mini-events community members can perform over 30 days leading up to Earth Day on April 22. Examples include an electric vehicle car show, tour of a Tesla Powerwall installation, climate-oriented books at Purple Crow Books, composting examples, a local or organic meal at a restaurant, and a tour of the Cedar Grove recycling center. The series will conclude with a picnic the Saturday before Earth Day.
