Board of Commissioners Meeting Summary
The board approved special event permits, completed manager's evaluation and reviewed strategic plan
The Hillsborough Board of Commissioners met Monday, Nov. 27, at the Town Hall Annex. Following is a brief summary of noteworthy actions. It does not include all actions taken at the meeting and should not be viewed as official minutes. The meeting is available for view on the town’s YouTube channel.
Events
The board approved the following special event permit applications:
- 2023 Solstice Lantern Walk on Dec. 21, 2023
- 2024 Godiva Track Club New Year’s Day 8K Run on Jan. 1, 2024
- Kevin Dendy Memorial 5K Run/Walk on April 6, 2024
Manager’s evaluation
The board conducted the town manager’s evaluation in closed session. Upon returning to open session, the board expressed appreciation for the leadership provided by Town Manager Eric Peterson and voted to approve a 5% merit increase.
Budget retreat discussion
The board informally agreed to reserve Feb. 17 for a six-hour budget retreat meeting. The budget retreat is an opportunity for the board to review the requests for high-cost items.
Strategic Plan update
The board received an update on the Strategic Plan for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2024. The Strategic Plan, adopted this summer, outlines the board’s key goals for the next three years. Progress on individual initiatives is outlined in the agenda packet.
