You may notice some additional activity along Riverwalk this month.

The Town of Hillsborough is contracting Vision NC to clean and check the condition of sewer lines along the eastern portion of the greenway. The work is expected to start Monday, Aug. 14, and take about two weeks. Work will occur 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, with the timeline dependent on weather. The entrance from South Cameron Street may be closed for part of one day for the work.

Town staff will oversee the work, and an inspector will be on site while the work is taking place.

Please watch out for crews and give them room to conduct their work. Uniformed staff and vehicles will be in the right of way and easements near sewer outfalls by the trail. They will use closed circuit television cameras to inspect the pipes.

Outfalls are large gravity sewer pipes located along drainage areas that capture incoming water flows from the surrounding areas and transport them to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
